1 - Signing Up
 
To buy or sell on SoComics.com, you need to be registered.
To do so click on the sign up link on the heading's Menu.
Your subscription enables you to fill in all information about your profile as well as your shipping address. We therefore ask you to be as rigorous as possible. Also be very careful when entering your email address as it is used to inform you about your orders follow-up.
When signing up you have to choose a user ID and a password which will allow you to go directly onto your account My account.
That account enables you to place orders without having to sign up each time you visit the website and to inform you about your orders follow-up. It also gives you the opportunity to access the website's other services such as the wants list.

2 - Finding an item
 
To find items you can either use the search engine on the home page, the universes tree or create a wants list agent.

  2.1 - Search Engine
  Quick search :
Select the required field (serie, title, seller name, item number) and enter one or several keywords in the search engine box located on the top of each page. Then click on "GO!" . You'll get the list of matching items.

Advanced search :
You can refine your search selecting serie, title and format at the same time in the search box of the listing page.

  2.2 - Universes
  For lovers of a specific genre, you can browse the listings by categories. You have a selection of categories on home page which links you to each categories tree or categories listings.
All items are not included into a specific category so you should also try with the search engine.

  2.3 - Wants list
  SoComics.com enables you to create your wants list. It means that as soon as a seller list an item matching one of those your are looking for, we will email you. You can include as many records as you want.

  2.4 - Asking a question to the seller
  SoComics.com is enabling this service for the buyers and sellers in order to facilitate the sale. Each seller may answer or not to the questions. When you ask a question, the seller is informed by e-mail. You are warned by e-mail when his reply is posted.

[!] IMPORTANT:
The purpose of the communications must be only to bring details on the item itself.
By using this service you accept :
- not to be aggressive or insulting
- not to communicate your personal address to the seller.

3 - Placing an order

  3.1 - How to use shopping cart
  To order an item that interests you, simply click on the "Add to shopping cart" button from the listing page or the description page of the item. The item is then added to your shopping cart. You can always decide to add or remove items before confirming your payment.
On the shopping cart, the shipping is automatically calculated based on the delivery country and shipping method selected. Thus, you know the total price of your order including shipping immediately.

To use the shopping cart your browser must accept cookies.

  3.2 - Shipping methods
  When ordering, multiple shipping methods options can be offered by the seller:

Economic method : it is usually the method of shipping the slower but more economical. This service rarely provides a tracking number or acknowledgment of receipt. It is good for low value orders.

Priority method : it is generally a faster method of shipping (air mail for international). It can enable real time monitoring of the delivery if the postal service offers a tracking number.

Registered method : it is generally a shipping method with fast and secure legal evidence of shipping and receiving and sometimes insurance for the seller in case of loss or breakage.

Express Mail : like FEDEX, UPS, DHL, EMS ....

[!] IMPORTANT:
Sellers have the option of forcing certain shipping methods from a total of purchasing for safety reasons.
Example: registered shipping forced from 100 € purchase.

  3.3 - Shipping fees
  These fees are set directly to your shopping cart based on weight of package (weight of all items + packaging).
They are paid by the buyer and then forwarded to the seller.
Shipping fees, may be:
- defined by SoComics.com from postal rates in the country of the seller
- defined by the sellers itself.
Some professional sellers may add packing costs as extra.

Exceptionally a seller may ask for a readjustment of shipping fees if the media is special or if he wishes to secure the shipping with another method. We'll ask your permission by email first before cashing order.

  3.4 - Payment methods
  Credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express)
Payment by credit card is done via SSL technology. This payment method offers conditions of safety and reliability superior to other methods of payment.
It also reduces the processing time of your order on SoComics.com.

When you finalize your order and pay by credit card, the sequence of operations is as follows:
1. SoComics.com checks the validity of your credit card.
2. Sellers are notified of your order and confirm the availability of items.
3. SoComics.com debit from your credit card the total amount of the order, sends you the final summary and immediately notified the sellers that they can ship the order.

[!] IMPORTANT:
- If one of the items of your order is not available, your order total is automatically recalculated after adjustment of shipping fees. Your credit card is charged only for items whose availability has been confirmed.
- When you enter your card number and expiry date, the information travels over the network via SSL.
- The seller has never access to your credit card information.

Paypal
Paypal lets you pay your orders quickly and easily by crediting our account paypal@cdandlp.com.

When you finalize your order by choosing to pay by Paypal, the sequence of operations is as follows:
1. Sellers are notified of your order and confirm the availability of items.
2. You then have a period of 10 days to send payment. We offer you a direct link to credit our Paypal account with the total of your order. This link is sent via email. You can also find it in your account My account > My Buyings > Orders tracking.
After this period of 10 days without any payment from you, your order is canceled.
3. SoComics.com receives notification of payment sent by Paypal, cash order and gives permission to the sellers to ship the order.

International Postal Money Order (IPMO)
This payment method is for buyers who do not have a credit card.
It allows you to go to a post office, paying in cash, and then issuing an International Postal Money Order (IPMO) in euros payable to SoComics.com.
When you finalize your order by choosing to pay by money order, the sequence of operations is as follows:
1. Sellers are notified of your order and confirm the availability of items.
2. You then have a period of 10 days to send the payment. Once done you must specify the date of dispatch of your payment in your account My account > My Buyings > Orders tracking.
After that time without your confirmation, your order is canceled.
3. SoComics.com receives your payment, cash order and gives permission to the sellers to ship the order.

[!] IMPORTANT:
We only accept postal money orders in Euros.

Bank transfer
You can pay your order by bank transfer in euros.

When you finalize your order by choosing payment via bank transfer, the sequence of operations is as follows:
1. Sellers are notified of your order and confirm the availability of the items.
2. Then you have a period of 10 days to send your payment. You'll receive our bank account information (IBAN) by email. Once your payment transferred, please specify the date of the payment in your account My account > My Buyings > Orders tracking.
After 10 days without any payment confirmation, your order will be cancelled.
3. SoComics.com receives your payment, cashes order and authorizes seller(s) to ship the order.

[!] IMPORTANT:
Any bank charges related to the bank transfer, will have to be supported by you only, otherwise we won’t accept your payment.

The balance of your account
You can also use the money available on your account balance to pay your order. Your balance may be positive in two cases:
- You are also a seller and your account balance was credited with sales made on SoComics.com.
- You got a refund on orders that was credited to your account balance.

A coupon equal to the total order will be automatically deducted from your balance to pay the order.
To use this feature, you must first enable it via email on order form.

4 - Orders tracking
 
You can track at any time your orders in your account My account > My Buyings > Orders Tracking in order to get information about pending or shipped orders.

We inform you by email at every step of the process of cashing and delivery of your order.

5 - Delivery time of the order
 
The delivery time depends on:
- the speed with which the seller confirms the order,
- the time to receive and cash your payment,
- how quickly the seller to send you the order,
- the time of delivery by the mail service.

For information about the speed of the seller, you can check his statistics. They are available on the descriptions pages of each items or the presentation pages of sellers.

You'll find:
- the average time to confirm availability of items by the seller,
- the average time to ship an order as soon as payment was cashed.

6 - Shipping costs
 
Shipping costs are charged to the buyer and forwarded to the seller (net of sales commission).

For French sellers, they are fixed by SoComics.com regards to the parcel weight (items + packaging) and based on the actual French post office rates.

Some professional sellers may apply packing costs on top of the shipping costs.

Foreign sellers can define their own shipping rates grid.

Shipping rates change regards to the seller's and buyer's location.

[!] IMPORTANT:
- You will get the exact shipping costs before paying as they are automatically calculated on the order form. Thus, there's no surprise for you.
- Once in a while, a seller may ask to make an adjustment on shipping if the media is special. We will seek your agreement prior to cash in your payment.

6 - Reception of the order
 
Once you have received your order, we ask you to confirm the receipt giving a satisfaction mark to the seller.
You will thus receive an email from SoComics.com requesting your receipt confirmation by the following deadlines:
- for a domestic shipping: 3 to 4 weeks after the shipping date,
- for an international shipping: 4 to 6 weeks after the shipping date.

Receipt confirmation can be done either into the reminder email or in your account
My account > My Buyings > Orders tracking .

In a minority of cases, the delivery can take longer than 4 weeks, especially with economic method for delivery overseas. In order to make sure that the parcel is not on its way, you can also contact the seller to check that it was shipped before registering your complaint near our customer service.

7 - Grading the transaction
 
SoComics.com encourages you to confirm your order receipt in your account My account > My Buyings > Orders tracking. This way, you also rank the transaction giving a satisfaction mark to the seller.
You can also leave a feedback to justify the given mark:
5/5 : Very satisfied
4/5 : Satisfied
3/5 : Fairly satisfied
2/5 : Disappointed
1/5 : Very disappointed

SoComics.com will use this mark to assess the seller's score. The score is the arithmetical average of the marks received during the past. It allows reliable and efficient sellers to be easily identified by the prospective buyers.

Upon which criteria ?
- the conformity with grading of the items,
- the swiftness of the seller to confirm and then to ship,
- the quality of the packaging,
- the respect of the general rules of SoComics.com (presence of the delivery order, no ad).

[! ] IMPORTANT:
You should not give a satisfaction mark concerning your appreciation about the quality of artistic work.

8 - Buyer's guarantees
 
SoComics.com system makes fraud very difficult. Indeed, the seller is paid only once you have confirmed receipt of your order.

Nevertheless, if you encounter problems during your purchases, we encourage you to contact in the first place the seller.
Most of the problems can be solved directly between buyer and seller.
However if you have not found an agreement or if the seller does not answer, you can contact our customer service via the Buyer's FAQ so that we register your complaint.
SoComics.com commits itself to assist you with benevolence and speed to solve any transaction problem.

Cases for which you can carry out a complaint and grant for a refund

1. Problems regarding the nature or the quality of the items :
- If the item you receive is different than the one ordered,
- if it is an illegal copy,
- if its condition is worse than advertised,
- if it is broken or damaged.

2. Loss :
Losses are very rare. Anyway, if you still haven't receive your order you have to contact our customer service through the Buyer's FAQ to register your complaint ...
In order to contact us for a complaint about non receipt, you need to respect the following deadlines:

For a domestic sending :
- economic shipping method, between the 3rd and 4th week after the shipping date
- priority , registered or express shipping method, between the 2nd and 3rd week after the shipping date

For an international sending :
- economic shipping method, between the 5th and 6th week after the shipping date
- priority, registered or express shipping method, between the 3rd and the 4th week after the shipping date

When this deadline is met, we review your complaint and contact the seller for more information. If we feel your complaint is justified, we register it.
After a reasonable time regards to the shipping method and the country of delivery (from 6 to 9 weeks), if you still haven't received your order, you benefit from a refund of your purchase.
